A sad day for America, and more to come

Such a sad day when our representatives are so afraid of losing their exulted positions and cushy jobs they continue to support a demagogue.
Such a sad day that so many American citizens were party to the riot and attempt to destroy the constitutional work of the federal legislature.
Such a sad day when preparations were inadequate to protect the Capitol building and its inhabitants.
Such a sad day when people are killed in the ensuing chaos.
There will be more sad days to come if President Donald Trump has his way.
Each of us needs to tone down the rhetoric and act as we have been taught - treat others as you would he treated - and offer respect to those who may have a different view of life.
