A puzzling legislative vote expanding gun rights

It puzzles me why a majority of Iowa lawmakers would pass the latest gun law bill. I realize not passing these kind of laws will not stop all the gun violence in Iowa or the rest of the U.S. But why make it easier for the wrong people to carry a gun in public? I can only think of two reasons that our majority lawmakers would pass this bill: Either they have no common sense or they are receiving a lot of money from the gun lobbies. I assume it is the later.
One thing we can be assured of from our majority lawmakers, is their thoughts and prayers will be with the victims of the next senseless gun shooting.
