A new president would offer renewed respect
The Gazette Opinion Staff

The major responsibility of our nation's commander and chief is to secure our borders and to ensure America's ability to conduct business and travel throughout the world. With the recent tragic death of J. Christopher Stevens, U.S. ambassador to Libya, we know that the current administration is unable to fulfill its number one responsibility.
It has been more than 30 years, when Jimmy Carter was president, since an American ambassador has been killed by a terrorist. We need Gov. Mitt Romney as commander and chief so that we will regain our rightful respect as the world's greatest nation. Ths result will be renewed, confident travel for business or pleasure.
