A moment of silence is not enough

To the editor:
Following the latest mass shooting in San Bernardino, gun violence prevention advocates called for stronger gun regulations. Congressional lawmakers responded with a moment of silence for the victims.
A moment of silence is not enough. Americans want a moment of action. It takes courage to stand up to the gun lobby. But Americans support courage.
