A modern provocation for people’s rebellion
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Dec. 19, 2009 11:57 pm
The people of the American Revolution had provocation for rebelling, and we have similar circumstances now. We are being insulted and ignored by the executive branch, as well as some members of the House of Representatives and Senate, because some of us are questioning their actions and motives.
They plan to raise taxes instead of lowering them. Their prediction that their actions would lower unemployment would be a joke if it weren't so serious. The proposed health care program slights old people and is to be accompanied by more taxation.
Our country is supposed to be a country, for, by, and of the people. We are losing the right to be represented. We saved Europe from tyranny in world wars I and II. Now is the time for us to be concerned ourselves.
