A medical mall does not make C.R. a destination

It appears as though the City Council has been sold a bill of goods regarding the planned medical mall here in Cedar Rapids. Ignoring the overwhelming negative feedback in the letters to the editor section and council meetings, it's full steam ahead.
Cedar Rapids as a destination? I can hear the conversation now. “Honey, after your chemotherapy treatment, let's go eat at one of those fancy, overpriced restaurants with no available parking.” Sure, Cedar Rapids doesn't want to lose its supply of doctors and we'll do anything to keep them here. Heaven forbid should we have to drive 20 minutes to Iowa City.
