A call to action for a senior center in C.R.

If we want a senior center in Cedar Rapids, we are going to have to lobby for it.
I read in The Gazette that the city has all kinds of money - $85 million for a convention complex, $45 million for a hotel and $36 million for a city (public works) garage. But not one dime for a senior center.
I suggest that we talk at our coffee breaks. We have a dance at the Hiawatha City Hall on Center Point Road on Thursdays, we can talk about this from noon to 12:30 p.m., maybe form a committee and get this on the City Council agenda in the next couple of months. We should show our interest and see where it takes us. Call me at (319) 396-1779.
