A big thanks to Iowa City sorority

On May 4, the Step It Up Color Run, sponsored by the Alpha Xi Delta sorority in Iowa City, raised more than $18,000 for Autism Speaks.
The women of Alpha Xi Delta had to deal with the day's incessant rain and potential of flooding, several scheduling problems and the event being s on a weekend when studying for finals was occupying participants' thoughts and time.
Still, runners came out, sponsors came through with donations of food and prizes and the young women of Alpha Xi Delta soldiered on with the planning, arranging, organizing, and shooting paint at the very wet, but enthusiastic runners. More important, an astounding sum was raised for the fight against autism.
Runners, participants, and the Iowa City/Coralville business community are to be commended for their efforts. The Alpha Xi Delta women deserve kudos for the hours and love they put into the event.
