A big brother and a hero at Hy-Vee

We all have seen the Hy-Vee commercials saluting first responders. It's the 'I Need a Hero Ad.” Yes, many of us, including myself, were on the front lines during this pandemic. Media outlets/grocery stores/health care are all essential industries. Now, I will only talk about the grocery store workers, who are disproportionately minorities and women. Among them, my big brother, a Hy-Vee department store manager. My brother, spending nights stocking shelves for you and everyone else. My brother, who got a second job so I could chase my dreams, and go to college, while our late father, who had once provided us a middle class life, couldn't work anymore, due to issues with mental health, My brother didn't go to college. He just kept on working at Hy-Vee. A truly, truly wonderful company! One of the last. Today, he out earns me and my college degree, and is on his way to being your millionaire next door. So, thank you brother, DeJon Brazant and all of Hy-Vee's workers. I always knew my big brother was a hero.
