My wife and I took my mother to the SaPaDaPaSo (St. Patrick's Day) parade Wednesday. It was her first ever SaPaDaPaSo parade at 93 years young. We decided it was time for her to enjoy one.
We were able to get a spot from which she, in her wheelchair, was able to view the parade, at the corner of Second Street and Third Avenue SE.
As the parade progressed, there were many handouts to the crowd. I was able to get a string of green beads for Mom. Lo and behold, before the parade was over, Mom had five strings of beads around her neck, all given to her by the young lads around us.
My wife and I thought it was a really nice thing for these lads to do. So we thank those young gentlemen. Needless to say, Mom fit right in, looking like the party animal she is!
