74th Street does not need paved with concrete

The Sept. 14 article “Road rash” about needing 74th Street paved with concrete and newer sidewalks on both sides of 74th Street is utterly ridiculous. Whoever did the study must have had ulterior motives and certainly doesn't live in the neighborhood.
I live one-half block away and never have seen more than 30 cars per hour day or night on average. Just because there are homes being built toward the west end of 74th Street NE doesn't mean we need a new concrete street; asphalt is good enough.
I have checked car traffic at various time periods. We simply don't need a new street that carries 20 vehicles per hour on average, day and night. Go fix other streets that are busy and corroded. I don't need my taxes to increase $1,000 this year.
