100 years after deadly battle, Trump denigrated fallen

June 2018. The 100th anniversary of the Battle of Belleau Wood, held at Aisne-Marne Cemetery. Almost 10,000 U.S. soldiers died battling the German Army, June 6-26, 1918. The deadliest battle of World War 1 for the USA. The French renamed the woods to honor the Americans — Wood of the Marine Brigade. The Germans called the Marines “Teufelshunde,” translated “Devil Dogs.”
Trump flew to France for the ceremony. It rained on the ceremony day. Trump declined to leave his hotel. His hair would get wet. He added, those soldiers who gave their all for the USA and Europe, were “losers and suckers.” Witnessed by Trump Chief of Staff John Kelly. It is terrible to have the Commander-In-Chief of our armed forces disparage our soldiers like that. They died so ol' bone spurs could be POTUS.
On January 29, 2017, ol' bone spurs dispatched a SEAL Team into Yemen on a search and capture mission that President Barack Obama had refused. The mission was too dangerous. Trump gave the green light at a dinner. The mission failed miserably. One SEAL killed, others wounded, an Osprey destroyed, many civilians killed, no intelligence captured. A disaster which Trump declared a success.
On October 4, 2017, a 12-man team of Green Berets were ambushed in Niger. 4 were killed and several wounded.
Trump’s disdain for the armed forces as cannon fodder and calling the dead “losers and suckers” extends to denigrating Gold Star families (those are the families of dead soldiers.)
