Make some noise
You can transform almost any object in your home into a musical instrument. Books and spoons can turn into percussion. That glass of water is now a chime. This craft uses an old Easter egg, tape, dried rice, and plastic spoons to make a maraca. You can find these elements in your home or you can pick up a craft kit from the Cedar Rapids Library for free by calling 319-261-READ.
Fill egg with rice and tape egg shut with clear tape, as well as any small holes in the egg where rice can escape.
Tape ends of the two spoons together.
Place egg between spoons and tape around the spoons, closing them around the egg.
