Learn to draw with Courtney Watkins: Live stream Friday at 10 a.m. with The Kids Gazette

Get your pencils and notepads ready for a creative session with Courtney Watkins, author of 'Dream It! Draw It! Think It! Do It!” Watkins will take kids through a series of creative projects during a live, 30-minute event at 10 a.m. Friday, May 29. The free event will be online at thegazette.com/kids.

Watkins is an author, artist, teacher and TV personality. She is the author of three books: 'Field Journal: Trickits,” 'Dream It! Draw It! Think It! Do It!” and 'Courtney's Creative Adventures.” She is also the creator of 'The Possibility Shop,” a web series with The Jim Henson Company and Disney.

'When I was 8 years old, my artwork appeared in The Mini Page,” Watkins told The Kids Gazette, referencing another newspaper page for kids. 'This was a really big deal to me.

'The feeling of seeing my ‘Flying Angel' in print in the paper was like, well, maybe best described as ... two ice creams plus one roller coaster ride times a zillion wows! I couldn't believe it. I was in the newspaper! That was the very first time I was published but not the last so, I'm excited to share my book ‘Dream It! Draw It! Think It! Do It!' with all of you creative kids in Iowa.”
