Xavier students selected for 2012 Iowa All-State Festival

Eight students from Xavier's music department have attained the highest individual honor available to Iowa high school musicians by being selected as members of the 2012 Iowa All-State Festival. The students selected for vocal were Micaela Andrews, Harry Daubitz, Emma Deignan, Meredith Diebold, Angelica Elkema, Noah Lauer, Mason Montuoro, and Maddie Smith. Matt Thommana was also selected as an alternate. Congratulations to all these outstanding musicians!

Approximately 17% of the students who audition are selected for membership in All-State ensembles. Participants will rehearse in Ames on Friday and Saturday, November 16 and 17, and the Festival Concert will be presented to the public at 7:30 P.M. in Hilton Coliseum, Iowa State University, Ames, on Saturday evening, November 17, 2012.
