Wind turbine being delivered to Kirkwood today

Kirkwood will be taking delivery of components for its wind turbine from about 10-10:30 a.m. this morning. The turbine is being constructed on the north side of the Cedar Rapids campus. This delivery will involve many large trucks transporting the turbine blades and the tower components. The trucks will be traveling and entering campus off of Kirkwood Blvd. from the north.
Four trucks will be delivering the three blades and the nacelle for the 2.5 megawatt turbine. The date of the turbine tower delivery is still to be determined. The turbine is expected to be operational by March 1, 2012.
