Upper Iowa University says its president and two other senior administrators were traveling a section of historic Route 66 as they ride their motorcycles from Los Angeles back to the campus in Fayette.
The college says President Alan Walker, Chief Financial Officer Don Aungst and Vice President Wendell Snodgrass left Los Angeles on Sunday on the first leg of their trip. They're riding from Southern California to Chicago, then west to Iowa.
They will be visiting university alumni along the way and plan on being back in time for homecoming weekend, Sept. 16 and 17.
The motorcycle ride is part of Walker's effort to raise the university's profile.
