The Iowa Board of Educational Examiners voted Friday to find probable cause of violations of the code of professional conduct and ethics against at Robert Dolan at Regina High School in Iowa City.
Those violations include sexual involvement or indecent contact with a student, committing or soliciting any sexual or otherwise indecent act with a student or any minor, and furnishing alcohol or illegal or unauthorized drugs or drug paraphernalia to any student or knowingly allowing a student to consume alcohol or illegal or unauthorized drugs in the presence of the licensee.
A hearing on the case will be held at a future date.
Dolan, 50, of Olin, faces a charge of third-degree sexual abuse and supplying alcohol to a 17-year-old boy, who wasn't a student at Regina. Trial is set for July 20 in Jones County District Court. According to criminal complaints, Dolan went to a teen's house with a 12-pack of beer; the boy said he passed out after drinking four beers and awoke to find Dolan fondling him.
