SILO policy on Iowa City school board agenda

IOWA CITY – The SILO debate could come to a head next week.
On the agenda for the Iowa City school board's Oct. 2 meeting is the policy that requires the superintendent to reserve $32 million in school infrastructure local-option sales tax funds for a new high school.
A majority of the school board has already said it wants to eliminate that language and put the money toward elementary schools instead.
Superintendent Stephen Murley said the school board intends to discuss the matter, but he was not sure if a vote would occur.
