IOWA CITY - A month ago, I posted a document showing what tax bills may look like in Johnson County next fiscal year.
The county's supervisors have since decided they want a smaller tax increase, and they met Thursday to decide how to do that. The results are below.
There's a public hearing next week, and the budget could still change. Typically, though, very few, if any, people speak at budget hearings, and the budget often is approved as is. (For example, Iowa City had the public hearing for its budget last week, and no one spoke.)
The columns you probably care about most are the ones labeled "= tax bill" and "$ change."
