REPLAY: Harkin hearing on bullying

Many Iowans who have experienced or dealt with bullying some form came to Des Moines Friday at the behest of Senator Tom Harkin for a conference on school bullying.
Harkin conducted a field hearing of the committee on health, education, labor and pensions Friday at East High School in Des Moines. Panelists for the event included Matt Shankles, a student at Linn-Mar High School who helped confront cyber-bullying at his school using an anonymous Twitter account.
Other panelists included: Russlynn Ali, U.S. Department of Education; Linda Calbom, U.S. Government Accountability Office; Penny Bisignano, Iowa Department of Education; Emily Domayer, Morningside College student; Paul Gausman, Sioux City Community Schools superintendent; Ellen Reilly, Davenport Community Schools; and Liz Siederquist, Des Moines Area Community College student.
