Mount Mercy names new marriage, family therapy director

CEDAR RAPIDS -- Mount Mercy College has named Randall R. Lyle associate professor and director of the new marriage and family therapy program. He began July 1.
As director of the marriage and family therapy program, Lyle will be responsible for maintaining the academic integrity of Mount Mercy's newest graduate degree program. His duties will include recruiting and admitting graduate students, monitoring program effectiveness and student success, periodically reviewing the curriculum, overseeing the design of graduate student professional development opportunities, and serving as an adviser for graduate students.
Before joining Mount Mercy, Lyle served as associate professor of marriage and family therapy at St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas, where he also served as program director for the Department of Counseling and Human Services. He has served as Vicar at Grace Episcopal Church in Boone and Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Webster City.
Lyle holds a doctorate in human development and family studies from Iowa State University, a master's of divinity degree in philosophical theology/pastoral theology from Seabury-Western Theological Seminary in Chicago, and a bachelor's degree in philosophy and theology.
