IOWA CITY - The Iowa City school board has released a tentative timeline for finding a new superintendent.
The goal is to hire someone in May. The current superintendent, Lane Plugge, is leaving at the end of the school year for another job.
The schedule is below. It pretty much speaks for itself, but a couple of notes:
- The board has said it plans to have public meet-and-greets with the finalists, which would be April 20, 21 and 22. But don't expect the identities of first-round candidates (April 14 and 15) to be revealed.
- There will be community forums March 2 to help the search firm develop a job profile.
