MARION - Linn-Mar athletics, fine arts and clubs and organizations are to receive $151,976 from the district's Booster Club this school year, according to a report presented to the school board this week.
Included is nearly $27,000 in supplemental funding to help defray costs for Linn-Mar students participating in statewide competitions or other events.
The majority of the Booster Club's income comes from concession stand sales at district events. Income earned during the club's fiscal year is used to fund activities during the following school year.
Allocations are split, with about 50 percent going to athletics, 35 percent to fine arts and 15 percent to clubs and organizations. All requests are routed through district administration and the administration makes final decisions.
Annual Booster Club support of Linn-Mar activities has grown from just under $40,000 in the 1996-97 school year.
