Kernels to visit local elementary schools
Thursday, June 10th, the Kernels will visit two local elementary schools to promote the 12th Annual Kernels Summer Reading Program.
Jon Karcich and Nolan Brannon, along with Kernels staff, will visit Nixon and Coolidge Elementary Schools in Cedar Rapids. Kernels players, staff, and Mr. Shucks have traveled to 54 local elementary schools this spring and summer to inform kids about the reading program and the rewards they can earn.
Presenting sponsor Toyota Financial Services, along with the Gazette, Rockwell Collins, the Kernels, Fazoli's, and Copyworks, have all contributed to the prizes kids receive after reaching each base by reading.
