Iowa Supreme Court hearing set for January for Iowa City school board member
Gregg Hennigan
Dec. 18, 2013 10:15 am
IOWA CITY – The Iowa Supreme Court will consider next month a recommendation that attorney and Iowa City school board member Jeff McGinness have his law license suspended.
In August, the Iowa Supreme Court Grievance Commission found that McGinness falsified documents in a civil case in 2012 and lied about it. It recommended he lose his law license for six months.
Oral arguments will be made before the Iowa Supreme Court Jan. 22. McGinness will be represented by Cedar Rapids attorney Gregory M. Lederer.
McGinness has continued to serve on the Iowa City school board and
has not publicly commented on the situation.
