Iowa education diversity summit set for April at Central College

Central College will host the 2011 Iowa's Impacting Diversity through Educational Alliances (I.D.E.A) Diversity Summit April 6.
The summit is a collaboration between communities and campuses to make Iowa a more inviting place to live, work, play and learn, organizers said. The keynote speakers are Dwight Watson, dean of the College of Education at the University of Northern Iowa, and Raynard Kington, president of Grinnell College. Morning and afternoon sessions will address topics such as immigration, disability and teaching race and ethnicity.
For a complete conference schedule and to register for the summit, visit www.iowadiversitysummit.com. Cost is $25 for students before April 5 and $30 on site the day of the event. For general registrants, cost is $60 before April 5 and $65 on site.
Iowa's I.D.E.A. is a consortium of colleges, universities and community colleges that advocate improved recruitment and retention of diverse faculty and staff.
