Iowa College Aid launched a new website. While the address will remain the same, www.IowaCollegeAid.gov has been redesigned with a modernized look and streamlined navigation. In addition, the website content has been revised to focus on the topics most important to Iowa's students, families, educators and financial aid administrators.
“We are continually looking for ways to increase accessibility to college and career planning resources for Iowa students and their families,” says Karen Misjak, executive director of Iowa College Aid. “By redesigning our website to highlight the most popular resources, we believe visitors will spend less time searching and more time discovering all the information we have to offer.”
From the homepage, visitors to IowaCollegeAid.gov can access featured scholarships, the Iowa Financial Aid Application or free publications with just one click. Further exploration through the navigation pane will direct visitors to detailed information about state and federal scholarships and grants, student loans, the financial aid process, default prevention and higher education research and data.
The new site contains expanded research and data information designed to serve legislators, higher education researchers, and financial aid administrators, as well as the general public. This portion of IowaCollegeAid.gov contains detailed reports of research conducted by Iowa College Aid, as well as other notable higher education data sources. Research topics include historical data on the funding of state scholarship and grant programs, college costs by institution and in comparison to the average household income in Iowa, student loan data and postsecondary preparation.
