Rockwell Collins is sponsoring a FIRST LEGO League Tournament, an annual event for elementary and middle school students that encourages them to explore Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) concepts through a hands-on interactive robotics program. The public is invited.
The competition starts at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Prairie Point School, 8015 Kirkwood Blvd. SW.
Teams of up to 10 players compete in a sports-like atmosphere with a focus on team building, problem solving, creativity and analytical thinking. This year's theme is “Food Factor,” in which teams are challenged to build a LEGO robot that can perform missions to solve a set of food safety issues.
