CEDAR RAPIDS -- The 18th annual Fab Five show choir event is this Saturday, Feb 4, in the Performing Arts Center at Prairie High School, on the College community Campus. Groups from Prairie, Washington, Jefferson, Kennedy, and Linn-Mar will showcase performances with singing and professionally choreographed dance. There are two shows on Saturday, a Prep show at 4pm and a 7:30pm Varsity show, which is already sold out. Reserved Tickets remain for the 4pm show and may be purchased online at www.fabfive.org through Thursday night or at the door on Saturday.
The annual Fab Five event raises funds for the participating schools. The event has been held at Prairie for the last few years, but plans to return to the revitalized Paramount Theatre in 2013, where the show originated with the Fab Five Committee.
About Fab Five committee: The Fab Five committee is a group of parent volunteers, usually one to two from each participating school. The committee organizes, manages, directs the show each year. Local sponsors help underwrite the cost of holding the vent, with all proceeds equally divided between the schools.
Big supporters this year include CR Oral Surgery, Rockwell Collins, Coe College, Mercy Care, UI Community Credit Union. Mediacom, & Clear Channel.
