Cedar Rapids schools changing early dismissal times for 2010-11
The Cedar Rapids Community School District has revised early dismissal times for the 2010-11 school year. The school year calendar includes 16 early dismissal days for staff professional development. A majority of these are scheduled on Wednesday afternoons. The District is adjusting early dismissal times on these days so that lunch can be served to all students and to decrease the amount of instructional time lost.
Beginning with the start of the 2010-11 school year, early dismissal time for middle and high schools will be 12:30 p.m.; Wilson and Grant schools will also dismiss at 12:30 p.m. All other elementary buildings will dismiss at 1:30 p.m.
