Cedar Rapids school board to talk budgets tonight
N/A
Dec. 14, 2009 7:00 am
Budgets for this school year and the next will be discussed at tonight's Cedar Rapids school district board meeting.
The district will lose about $8.4 million in state funding because of the mandated 10 percent budget cut for all state services. The district will cover that loss by dipping into its reserve fund, which had been slated to reach $15 million by June 30.
Steve Graham, the district's executive director of business services, will review the current budget and next year's budget assumptions.
Tonight's meeting begins at 5 p.m. in the boardroom of the Educational Service Center at Kingston, 707 15th St. SW.
