From a Media Release
Oct. 31, 2011 10:33 am
The Cedar Rapids City PTA will host Part 1 of a follow-up series to the Bullying Forum presented last spring. This event will be held on Thursday, Nov. 3, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Taft Middle School auditorium.
This forum, titled, Cedar Rapids PTA and CRCSD: Working Together to Reduce Instances of Bullying, will focus on the Cedar Rapids Community School District policies and procedures on bullying, as well as strategies for schools, students and families to slow down bullying behaviors. The presentation will be followed by a short question and answer session where generalized bullying issues will be addressed. Scheduled presenters include CRCSD staff Candi Lynch and Paul Hayes, Mary Andres (PBIS trainer, GWAEA) and school staff.
Bullying is an issue that crosses all boundaries and the Cedar Rapids City PTA in collaboration with Cedar Rapids Community School District hopes to provide parents with the resources necessary to prevent and correct bullying situations. We welcome any questions or comments. E-mail the Cedar Rapids Council PTA President, at cityPTAinfo@gmail.com
