Boys & Girls Club members to receive backpacks for school
Thursday, August 16, from 4:00-6:00pm, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Cedar Rapids, Young Parents Network, Tanager Place along with members from Daybreak Rotary, will be at the Polk Neighborhood Community Center hosting a backpack giveaway for former Polk Elementary students. Daybreak Rotary donated 125 backpacks to be filled with the basic school supplies to help the kids start the school year off right. The backpack program is one of many ways the alliance of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Cedar Rapids, Young Parents Network and Tanager Place is helping students transition from Polk into their new schools.
