Linn-Mar High School students and teachers breathed a sigh of relief as Tenth Street reopened Friday.
Renovations to the Marion road blocked the main entrance to the school, limiting cars and buses to a single entrance on 29th Avenue.
Construction on the road originally was supposed to be completed prior to the start of the school year, but work was delayed due to the large amount of rain during the summer months.
Cars make their way down one open lane of 10th Street on the first day of school for the Linn-Mar Community School District Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2010 in Marion. The road construction project on 10th Street in front Linn-Mar High School was supposed to have been completed before the start of school but was delayed by wet weather this summer.
