Kortemeyer to lead district through a 5-year strategic and facility master plan

The two-phase plan includes new middle schools and a stronger emphasis on career and technical education. “We want to make sure when our city is going out attracting industry to our community, that they can look to our school district and say we are preparing the future workforce,” said Superintendent Tawana Grover.

The recreation and wellness center could include pickleball courts and an indoor track and would be open to the public. It would be operated by YMCA and located on the district’s campus across from Prairie Crest Elementary in southwest Cedar Rapids.
