Jaidyn Ballard to Compete in ANTSO National Pageant

Currently serving as ANTSO 2017 Miss Iowa National Teenager, Jaidyn will compete in their National pageant in Houston, TX on Nov. 26. In addition to the State title, Jaidyn also won essay, speech and acting competitions at the State Pageant, and

received the Dove Award for outstanding church and community service activities. Founded in 1970, America's National Teenager Scholarship Organization (ANTSO)

is the longest-running premier pageant for teens, focusing on leadership, scholastic aptitude and service. State and National winners receive scholarships from

sponsoring universities, and the opportunity to serve as positive role models to teens across America.

During her tenure as State titleholder, Jaidyn participated in many service-oriented activities throughout the Midwest, including the Nebraska Special Olympics and as

a "pageant buddy" for the National Miss Amazing pageant contestants in Chicago (an ANTSO division that supports girls with disabilities). Locally, Jaidyn has

participated in service projects supporting food banks, shelters and church groups, as well as many community events. While in Houston, the contestants will help serve Thanksgiving dinner at the Convention Center.

Jaidyn, the daughter of Terry and Jodi Ballard, lives in Blairstown and is a junior at Benton Community High School, where she is a varsity cheerleader (football and wrestling), and in Speech club. Jaidyn actively participates in programs to promote drug- and tobacco-free youth (CADCA, Reality Check and ISTEP), and teaches

summer Faith Formation classes.

Good Luck Jaidyn!
