Don Mitchell Retirement

Please join us in congratulating Don Mitchell on his retirement from Johnson Avenue Hy-Vee in Cedar Rapids after 41 years of service. Don's Hy-Vee

career began in 1976 at an Ankeny Hy-Vee as a cashier. In 1980, he transferred to a store in Des Moines as a shift manager. In 1984, Don then went to a store in Iowa City, and a few years later he transferred to Kirksville, MO and then Waseca, MN. Shortly after, in 1991, Don transferred to Johnson Avenue, where he spent the remainder of his career as Kitchen and Hickory House Manager.

We don't have the words to truly thank Don enough for his dedication to Johnson Avenue Hy-Vee! Don's legacy of hard work will live on in many Hy-Vee

employees, whose lives he has impacted over the course of his career. He will not only be greatly missed by the current and past crew of Johnson Avenue, but also by our customers that have come to know Don over the years. Don has been a well-respected Hy-Vee employee during his entire career, and we wish him the best of luck in the years that lie ahead. Congratulations to both Don and his wife, Theresa, on a well-deserved retirement!
