The Saints recorded 293 and easily won by 11 strokes at the Mississippi Valley Conference Mississippi Division meet Monday at Wildcat Golf Course. Freshman Harrison Hartke made it a Xavier sweep, winning medalist honors with 3-under 67.

Western Dubuque’s Brock Wilson fired a 1-under 71 for medalist honors at the Mississippi Valley Conference Mississippi divisional boys’ golf meet Monday at Hunters Ridge Golf Course in Marion. Linn-Mar led from start to finish for the team crown.
Iowa City West earned a runner-up at the Class 4A district meet Monday at Brown Deer Golf Club in Coralville. The Trojans qualified for the state tournament for the first time since 2009. Senior Dillon Croco led West, winning medalist honors with 5-under 66.
The putting hasn’t always been a strength this season, but Cedar Rapids Xavier’s Garrett Nurre tore up the greens and claimed medalist honors at the final MVC Mississippi Division meet. He helped the Saints win the final divisional and finish overall runner-up to Dubuque Wahlert.
Cedar Rapids Prairie freshman Henry Sobaski celebrated his 15th birthday Tuesday. He provided himself with a gift, shooting 2-under 70 and earned co-medalist honors at the Cedar Falls Invitational.
Hiawatha Legion Post 735, made up of Cedar Rapids Washington players, received a strong outing from left-hander Jabari Dobbs and three RBIs from Jack Rogers and Erich Rinderknecht to win a state qualifier.
