KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Iowa State is likely to be without star point guard Alison Lacey Friday when the No. 2-seeded Cyclones open Big 12 Tournament play, athletic officials said.
An ISU news release Wednesday night said further testing revealed the all-Big 12 senior is recovering from pneumonia. Lacey has missed the Cyclones' last two games because of the illness and her status for the rest of the weekend's games is in question.
She is, according to the release, expected to return for ISU's NCAA Tournament games starting March 21.
The Cyclones (23-6, 11-5) will play the winner of Thursday's opening-round game between Oklahoma State and Kansas.
Cyclone PG could miss her third straight game
