AMES – Iowa State announced on Tuesday that sophomore guard Jakolby Long is transferring.
Long played sparingly in his two seasons as a Cyclone. As a freshman, he appeared in nine games and averaged 4.4 minutes and 1.2 points. Last season as a sophomore, Long appeared in 22 games, averaging 9.5 minutes and 1.9 points.
He scored a career-high 17 points against Tulsa on Nov. 17.
'We appreciate Jakolby's effort and hard work for our program,” Iowa State Coach Steve Prohm said in a release. 'He has been a good teammate and we wish him the best as he moves forward academically and athletically.”
Iowa State has one open scholarship for the 2018-19 season after the departure of Long.
