DES MOINES - Iowa State suspended center Jordan Railey has been reinstated by coach Fred Hoiberg, though Railey will be held out for the first three games of next season.
Railey was suspended following his arrest in April for fighting in public. But Cyclones spokesman Mike Green says Railey's disorderly conduct charge has since been dropped.
Green says Railey, who averaged 2.0 points and 1.5 rebounds as a freshman last year, will be allowed to practice with the team and go on its trip to Italy next month. But Railey will be suspended for the exhibition season and the Cyclones' first three games in 2011-12.
Railey and forward Melvin Ejim, also a sophomore, are the only returning frontcourt players who played for Iowa State last season.
