The Gazette
Oct. 13, 2018 1:43 pm
After knocking off Oklahoma State on the road last week, the Iowa State Cyclones (2-3, 1-2) return to Jack Trice Stadium looking for another upset against the No. 6-ranked West Virginia Mountaineers (5-0, 3-0). West Virginia is a 4.5-point favorite.
Here are predictions, pregame links and TV, radio and streaming info for the game.
Predictions
Marc Morehouse — Dudes who consider muskets the height of weaponry, I wish you the best in the re-enactment. West Virginia 38, Iowa State 34
Mike Hlas — Can Mountaineers be flat-earthers? And if you throw a red stone in the blue sea, what will it become? (Answer: Wet.) West Virginia 35, Iowa State 28
Jeff Johnson — Oh, Iowa State. Which true freshman you got coming in this week to star? West Virginia 31, Iowa State 24
Beth Malicki — My husband is a descendant of Daniel Boone and I feel like he'd have made a terrific West Virginia Mountaineer mascot. The only caveat is he can't grow a beard and apparently that's the practice since 1974, except for the two female Mountaineers in 1990 and 2009. West Virginia 27, Iowa State 23
Ben Visser — Brock Purdy was Purdy good last week in his debut. But West Virginia has film on him now. West Virginia 38, Iowa State 31
Todd Brommelkamp — Playing a team coached by Dana Holgorsen can be a hair-raising experience, even for Big 12 teams that understand the concept of defense. West Virginia 34, Iowa State 30
