AMES — Iowa State men's basketball coach Steve Prohm added Dayton assistant James Kane to his coaching staff, the athletics department announced Monday.
Kane served on Prohm's Murray State coaching staff from 2011-15.
'I'm excited to get reunited with James,' Prohm said in a statement released by the athletics department. 'He is a guy that has been integral to the success I've had over the years. We are very fortunate to be able to get him up here to Iowa State.'
Prohm, Kane and current Iowa State assistant William Small guided Murray State to a 104-29 record, including three postseason trips.
'I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to join the Iowa State Cyclone basketball staff,' Kane said in the news release. 'Iowa State has a very successful program that plays in one of the most competitive basketball conferences in the nation.
'I am also beyond thrilled to reunite with Coach Prohm to continue learning from him and help recruit, coach and develop high character student-athletes. I can't wait to get to work and experience Hilton Magic.'
