Another day in Paris down and it was a great one!
This morning we started off with a bus tour around Paris. We were able to take pictures at the Eiffel Tour, the Arc de Triomphe and the Notre Dame Cathedral. The team was able to take a lot of pictures in front of the main landmarks in Paris.
After the bus tour, we bought souvenirs at a few local shops. The next stop for the day was at the famous Louvre Museum. I can't believe I was able to see pieces of art like the Mona Lisa, Winged Victory and Venus de Milo. I thought the Mona Lisa was much more beautiful in person. I always thought the Mona Lisa was just another painting before I stepped into the Louvre, but I can see why so many people stand in line to see it. It's hard to describe the feeling you get when seeing a piece of art that Leonardo da Vinci actually painted himself.
After the Louvre, we went to lunch at a local café and I had a great smoothie with my meal. We ate at a famous café next to the Opera House in Paris. The view was great and the 10 euro smoothie I had was small, but really good.
We walked around the city and shopped for the rest of the day and I purchased a really sweet coat at the Nike store on the Champs Elysees. After dinner, Kathryn and I enjoyed the view from our balcony of the Eiffel Tower light show. We can see almost the entire Eiffel Tower from our room so the light show was amazing.
We also were able to celebrate Bethany Doolittle's birthday today in Paris! I'm sure it was cool for her to celebrate her birthday in Paris.
I'll check in with you all tomorrow. Go Hawks!
