Ex-Cyclone Uhl advances to 5,000 final

EUGENE, Ore. - Former Iowa State NCAA champion Lisa Uhl advanced to the finals of the 5,000 meters by finishing sixth in her preliminary race Monday at the U.S. Olympic Trials.
Uhl, who now goes by the name Lisa Koll Uhl, had a time of 15:48.16. The women's 5,000-meter final will be at 9:15 p.m. CDT Thursday on the Hayward Field track.
Iowa State's Kianna Elahi will compete Thursday in the opening round of the women's 400-meter hurdles at 7:30 p.m. CDT. Cyclones Danielle Frere and Christina Hillman will compete in the opening round of the women's shot put Thursday at 7:40 p.m. CDT.
