CEDAR RAPIDS - Xavier senior Jacob Fulton, who broke a school record with high score of 299 against Iowa City West on Jan. 20 at May City Bowl, is seeking state glory today at the Class 2A bowling tournament.
Fulton knocked down nine strikes in a row and, in his last set, he laid down nine pins.
'It was great because it was something I've always wanted to achieve,” Fulton said.
Even though he has achieved many goals already this season, he has more to obtain.
'I want to go back to state and also qualify as a team,” Fulton said. 'It feels really exciting to know that I have a chance to bowl against the best kids in the state.”
The Saints did not make it as a team, but Fulton isn't the only Xavier bowler at Plaza Lanes today hoping for a high finish. Tanya Zaugg earned a berth in the girls' tournament.
