Week 4 high school football roundup: Xavier cruises past Charles City

Quinn Schulte passed for three touchdowns and ran for two more as Cedar Rapids Xavier blanked Charles City, 50-0, Friday night in a high school football game in Charles City.
Schulte completed 6 of 6 passes for 73 yards and added 54 rushing yards.
He had touchdown passes to Jacob Hines (18 and 6 yards) and Jax Junge (13 yards), who also scored on a 10-yard run.
Schulte added TD runs of 31 and 16 yards.
Junge finished with 81 yards on 12 rushes
IOWA CITY REGINA 42, SIGOURNEY-KEOTA 20 — Issac Vollstedt rushed for 174 yards and three touchdowns on just 13 carries at the Regals won their second straight.
Vollstedt scored on runs of 1, 80 and 53 yards as Regina improved to 2-2, 2-0.
Mike Conlon completed 10 of 14 passes for 169 yards and a TD, and Jake Phillips caught five of those passes for 86 yards and scored on a run.
'Cole White was amazing on defense,' Regina Coach Marv Cook wrote in a text. 'Very active and disruptive to SK's running game.'
MOUNT VERNON 49, MID-PRAIRIE 0 — Drew Adams completed 12 of 19 passes for 211 yards and five touchdowns as the Mustangs won in Wellman.
Cale Snedden caught five of those passes for 108 yards and two TDs, and Zach Baker, Paul Ryan and Colden Clark also had scoring receptions.
ANAMOSA 7, MEDIAPOLIS 0 — Matthew Walton scored on a 4-yard run with 2:13 left in the third quarter to lift the Raiders on the road.
Nathan Dietiker set up the TD by blocking a punt, giving Anamosa the ball at Mediapolis' 6.
Logan Seeley led the Raiders with 111 yards on 23 rushes and Walton added 82 on 21 carries.

DECORAH 49, BENTON COMMUNITY 21 — The Vikings scored 14 points in the final 1:54 of the first half en route to a win in Van Horne.
The touchdowns were set up by a blocked punt and a fumble recovery on a kickoff return to break open a 7-7 game.
Brannan Hogan had two touchdown passes for Decorah and one run.
Jake Muhlbauer scored on a run and a punt return and Dawson Holkesvik rushed for one score and scored another on a pass.

WEST BRANCH 38, MAQUOKETA VALLEY 21 — Tanner Lukavsky totaled more than 200 yards of offense and scored four times as the Bears won in Delhi.
Lukavsky scored three rushing TDs and another on a reception as West Branch totaled 440 yards of offense to 218 for the Wildcats.
West Branch QB Beau Cornwell continued his strong play, throwing for 214 yards and his 10th TD pass of the season.

MONTICELLO 34, NORTH FAYETTE VALLEY 26 — Max Keleher scored three second-half touchdowns and finished with 233 yards on 22 carries as Monticello (1-1, 3-1) won at home.
North Fayette Valley led 20-14 at the half. Zach Massman had 32 carries for 178 yards for the Tiger Hawks (0-2, 0-4).

LISBON 20, NORTH LINN 19 — With six minutes to go, Clayton Hudson blasted up the middle for a 4-yard touchdown, giving the Lions a win in Troy Mills.
The seesaw battle saw the Lynx open up a 13-7 lead in the first half thanks to a pair of Brennan Becker TDs.
With 9:42 left in the third quarter, Lisbon's Jake Jannett took the ball 25 yards for a game-tying touchdown and the extra point put the Lions up 14-13.
Ryan Miller cashed in a touchdown on third-and-1 from the 3-yard line to put North Linn back on top, 19-14, before Hudson's game-winner.
ALBURNETT 36, ED-CO 29 — Tanner Sloan scored on a 1-yard run to give the Pirates the win at home, but offensive lineman Holden Sevening had the play of the game.
On fourth and 10, Sevening faked a punt and completed a 10-yard pass to Jeremy Golden, setting up the winning TD.
Matt Barnett sealed the win with a late interception.
CENTRAL CITY 56, WEST CENTRAL 20 — Wade McKinney scored three touchdowns and Trey Holub had a TD and an interception as the Wildcats rolled at home.
Central City was up 50-6 at halftime.
WAPSIE VALLEY 14, EAST BUCHANAN 13 (OT) — East Buchanan went for the win at home, but the two-point overtime conversion attempt failed.
East Buchanan took the lead when Spencer Cook connected with Jake Ohl for a 49-yard scoring pass in the second quarter and led until Wapsie Valley's Tanner Sauerbrei put his team on the board with a 1-yard TD run. Wapsie Valley opened the OT period with a Jake Kuhlman 3-yard score and Jake O'Donnell added the PAT.
After Cook scored from the 3, the Buccaneers pass attempt to win failed.
Colin Schrader gained 118 yards for Wapsie Valley, which limited the Bucs to 48 rushing yards.

CLAYTON RIDGE 22, NORTH CEDAR 19 — The Eagles rushed for 289 yards, getting 169 from Josef Von Handorf, and held off the Knights to win at Stanwood.
CEDAR FALLS 38, WESTERN DUBUQUE 18 — Luke Gillett threw two touchdown passes and ran for two more, and Sam Gary ran for 203 yards and a score, as the Tigers pulled away for a win in Epworth.
Gillett completed 12 of 21 passes for 203 yards and ran 11 times for 81 yards as the Tigers (3-1) avenged a 17-15 defeat to Western Dubuque (3-1) in the UNI-Dome last season.
