DES MOINES - Wednesday's games at the girls' state basketball tournament at Wells Fargo Arena:

CLASS 4A QUARTERFINAL

No. 2 WESTERN DUBUQUE (23-0) vs. No. 7 INDIANOLA (19-4)

* Time: 11:45 a.m.

* Tournament history: Western Dubuque has qualified for its fourth tournament. The Bobcats were state champions in 1987, 4A runners-up last year. Indianola is at state for the fourth time, the first occasion since 2009.

* Coaches: Western Dubuque's Amy Ostwinkle is 104-56 in seven seasons. Johnston Coach Bert Hanson is 99-102 in nine years.

* Key players: Rose Simon-Ressler (5-10, sr.) leads Western Dubuque at 13.2 points. Megan Maahs (6-1, jr.) adds 12.9 points, along with 9.5 rebounds, per game. Indianola is led by Grace Berg (6-0, fr.) at 16.3 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. Haley Vesey (5-10, soph.) adds 11.3 ppg.

* BC Moore computer projection: Western Dubuque by 2.

CLASS 5A QUARTERFINAL

No. 5 IOWA CITY WEST (21-2) vs. No. 6 SOUTHEAST POLK (17-6)

* Time: 3:15 p.m.

* Tournament history: West is at state for the fourth time, all in the last five years. The Women of Troy were champions in 2012. Southeast Polk is making its 12th appearance. The Rams were 5A champions in 2013, runners-up last year.

* Coaches: B.J. Mayer is 139-51 in eight years at West, 266-133 in 17 seasons overall. Tracy Dailey is 55-18 in three years at Southeast Polk.

* Key players: Mikaela Morgan (5-11, sr.) leads West in scoring (13.6 points per game) and rebounding (5.8 per game). She has signed with UNI. Cal State-Fullerton signee Dani Craig (5-8, sr.) adds 11.4 ppg. Ashton Donels (5-9, jr.) paces Southeast Polk
