Reported scores and summaries for prep basketball games involving Cedar Rapids and Iowa City metro teams Tuesday night.
BOYS
Dubuque Wahlert 76, Iowa City West 68
A 22-10 second quarter run fueled 3A No. 1 Wahlert's (9-2, 4-2 MVC) victory and handed No. 2-ranked (4A) Iowa City West its first conference loss in Dubuque.
The Trojans (8-3, 5-1 MVC) pulled within two with four minutes to play, but could not connect on their final eight shots. Connor McCaffery scored a game-high 28 points and Wali Parks scored 10 and pulled down five rebounds.
Cordel Pemsl and David Wedewer scored 22 and 20 points, respectively, for Wahlert.
Cedar Rapids Kennedy 70, Cedar Rapids Prairie 51
Drake Brewster scored 18 points and led four Cougars in double figures as Kennedy won at Prairie.
Derrick Diggins scored 13 points, while Michael Bisenius added 11 points including three 3-pointers, and Matthew Berst tallied 10 points with two 3-pointers for Kennedy.
Max Smith-Drahos led Prairie with 18 points, while Jalen Rima scored 13 for the Hawks.
Iowa City High 61, Waterloo East 56
The Little Hawks built a 30-15 halftime lead but East charged back in the second half. Nile Ringen led the Little Hawks (7-4, 4-2 MVC) with 16 points and Naeem Smith added 14.
Raheem Nickelson scored a game-high 19 points for East (4-6, 2-4 MVC).
Cedar Falls 68, Cedar Rapids Jefferson 65
Tra'von Fagan scored 28 points to lead all scorers as the Tigers (6-3, 3-3 MVC) beat the J-Hawks at home. AJ Green had 18 points for Cedar Falls.
Kane Kramer scored 16 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead Cedar Rapids Jefferson (3-8, 0-6 MVC). James Brown Jr. added 13 points.
Marion 54, South Tama 41
Jacob Manderscheid led all scorers with 23 points as the Indians (4-7, 3-3 Wamac) beat the Trojans in Tama. Baylor Fish added 10 points for Marion.
Clayton Rosenberger led South Tama (2-10, 0-5 Wamac) with 18 points while Triston Lasley finished the game with 14 points.
Durant 51, Iowa City Regina 44
Durant (11-1, 8-1 River Valley) spread the ball around as three players scored in double-digits in a home victory over the Regals. Luke Whitlock led the Wildcats with 13 points while Gavin Meyer and William Bentley scored 11 points each.
Andrew Adamec and Ryne Schooley had 14 points each for the Regals (4-5, 4-3).
Linn-Mar 71, Dubuque Senior 60
Jordan Bohannon led all scorers with 18 points and Beau Klostermann chipped in 15 in Marion. Other double-digit scorers for the seventh-ranked Lions (7-2, 6-0 MVC) were Jordan Brandt with 13 and Jared Printy with 12.
Derek Noel and Noah Carter each finished with 14 points for Senior (7-4, 3-3 MVC).
Prince of Peace 56, Cedar Valley Christian 29
Logan Crittenden scored 10 points for Cedar Valley Christian in a loss to Prince of Peace in Springville.
Will Anderson and Seth Moeller each scored 13 for the Irish.
GIRLS
Iowa City Regina 46, Durant 44
2A No. 2 Regina beat No. 14 Durant, 46-44, on a last-second shot by Sarah Lehman in Durant.
Cammy Verducci had 15 points and Lehman finished with 12 points for Regina (11-0). Mary Crompton added eight points.
Marion 59, South Tama 41
Sophomore Chloe Rice scored a game-high 21 points, while Mia Laube added 10 points as 4A No. 6 Marion won at home. Dani Stubbs paced South Tama with 12 points.
Linn-Mar 68, Dubuque Senior 34
Amanda Ollinger had 15 points with 11 rebounds to lead three Lions in double figures as No. 11 Linn-Mar won in Dubuque.
Kamryn Finley added 13 points, while Megan Murphy tallied 12 points with four 3-pointers for Linn-Mar.
Iowa City High 66, Waterloo East 24
Courtney Joens scored 24 points with three 3-pointers while Ashley Joens added 15 points and Kenya Earl tallied 12 points for No. 7 Iowa City High in Waterloo.
Cedar Rapids Xavier 39, Dubuque Hempstead 29
McKenna Andersen scored 12 points and pulled down eight rebounds to lead Xavier in an MVC matchup at home.
Lexi Noonan paced the offense for the Saints (7-5) with 15 points and two assists.
Catherine O'Hare scored 10 points for Hempstead (3-9).
Dubuque Wahlert 51, Iowa City West 41
Katy Fricano scored a game-high 21 points to lead Dubuque Wahlert in Iowa City.
Emma Koch scored 10 points, while Logan Cook added eight points for the Women of Troy.
Cedar Valley Christian 51, Prince of Peace 39
Candace Wilson led the Huskies with 16 points as Cedar Valley Christian (4-6, 1-3 Tri-Rivers) defeated the Irish in Springville to win their first conference game. Maggie Cach finished with 14 points and Megan Slagle scored 11 points for the Huskies.
Rebecca Divarco was the lone double-digit scorer for Prince of Peace (0-11, 0-4 Tri-Rivers) with 16 points.
Cedar Falls 48, Cedar Rapids Jefferson 40
The J-Hawks were led by Emily Oler with 13 points and Kennedy Dighton with six rebounds in a loss to No. 12 Cedar Falls at home.
